Business Mentoring

Besides financial resources, it also takes a community of practitioners to raise a successful youth entrepreneur.

At YBS, we are committed to provide each of our YBS entrepreneurs with a personal mentor who will walk him/her through the start-up phase of the business.  The personal mentor will only be assigned to a YBS entrepreneur after the Loan Selection Panel has awarded him/her a business loan.

Our pool of volunteer business mentors includes both the specialists and personal mentors.  The specialists are domain experts in accounting, marketing, communications and commerce related fields.  All YBS entrepreneurs will have access to these specialist mentors for assistance.

YBS Educational Outreach Plans

Inspirational Assembly Talks in schools

Successful YBS entrepreneurs may contribute back to the society by sharing their passion for entrepreneurship on an ad-hoc basis in schools to encourage and inspire the young people.  Our volunteer business mentors and consultants are welcome too.

Entrepreneurship Talks (for 18-35 years old)

YBS will be starting a series of entrepreneurship talks targeted at unemployed young people (18-35 years old) to raise awareness of entrepreneurship and funding opportunities.  Our motivational speakers come from diverse fields, each with a heartening story to inspire and influence the next wave of entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurship Curriculum (for 14-17 years old)

YBS plans to introduce a modular entrepreneurship curriculum that will meet the requirements by SPRING Singapore.  It is designed as a 3-day workshop for secondary school students age 14-17 years old as part of life skills development.  This curriculum aims to:

  • help students understand entrepreneurship and the different business models
  • train students to prepare their own business plans and financial budgets
  • instill an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset
  • place students in a real-life work situation where they complete a project for a company
